è stato classificato come il secondo più grande artista rock di tutti i tempi dalla rivista Rolling Stone, preceduto dai Beatles
Bob Dylan, nato con il nome di Robert Allen Zimmerman (Duluth, 24 maggio 1941), da famiglia ebraica, è un cantautore e compositore statunitense.
Distintosi anche come scrittore, poeta, pittore, attore e conduttore radiofonico, è una delle più importanti figure degli ultimi cinquant’anni nel campo musicale, in quello della cultura popolare e della letteratura.
Alla fine del 1978 Dylan divenne un cristiano. Il secondo album evangelico, Saved (1980), ricevette critiche contrastanti, anche se Kurt Loeder di Rolling Stone scrisse che era molto superiore, musicalmente, al suo predecessore
Dylan dice che ha accettato Gesù Cristo nel suo cuore nel 1978 dopo “una visione e sensazione” durante la quale la stanza si è mossa: “C’era una presenza nella stanza e non poteva essere nessun altro che Gesù Cristo”»
A metà estate del 1997 Dylan ritornò in tour, e in una prima data si esibì davanti a papa Giovanni Paolo II alla Conferenza Eucaristica Mondiale a Bologna. Il papa davanti ad una folla di duecentomila persone fece un sermone basato sul testo di Blowin’ in the Wind.

Blowin’ in the Wind è una famosa canzone di contenuto pacifista scritta da Bob Dylan nel 1962
Tre semplici strofe sono in questo caso sufficienti al compositore-poeta per interrogarsi su tematiche sociali ed esistenziali. In particolare, al centro della sua visionaria poeticità sono il senso della condizione umana e l’incapacità dell’uomo di ripudiare in maniera definitiva e totale ogni tipo di guerra
Nel ritornello – rivolto metaforicamente ad un ipotetico amico, nel quale si potrebbe identificare l’intera umanità -viene data una risposta che lascia uno spiraglio all’ottimismo: una risposta che c’è, e a portarla basterà un soffio di vento.
Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door è una canzone scritta da Bob Dylan per la colonna sonora del film Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid del 1973. Essa è poi divenuta una delle più famose canzoni del cantante.
interpretazione, si tratterebbero dei pensieri di un soldato morente; sarebbe dunque una struggente denuncia contro la guerra e le innocenti vittime che essa provoca. Quest’ultima interpretazione sarebbe attestata dalle tendenze pacifiste dell’autore e dello stesso cantante.
